Saimas Spinnery

Nestled in the beautiful lake landscapes of Puumala, Saimas Spinnery is a modern Finnish micro mill where traditional craftsmanship meets thoughtful contemporary making.

The mill spins a wide range of natural animal fibres — from wool and mohair to alpaca and even soft dog undercoat fibres. Each yarn is hand dyed in small batches, one colour at a time, giving every skein its own unique character and atmosphere.

Sustainability, ethical production and transparency are at the heart of Saimas Spinnery’s work. The spinning mill uses renewable energy while preserving traditional fibre processing skills with a modern approach.
